Toshiba recently released the world’s lightest 13.3 inch performance laptop with DVD drive and it seems to big contender to some of the currently seated Apple big boys.  This new Toshiba business laptop was designed to give business users great performance and durability at prices less than $1000.  Its features are quite good and smokes the Apple Macbook series in a variety of categories including price.  It’s beginning weight is three pounds and is only an inch thick (remember it has a DVD drive so that’s pretty cool).

The R700 laptop is designed for on-the-go performance laptop users.  It doesn’t feature a fancy graphics card (just an integrated Intel chip) so you can’t expect it to be a very good gaming laptop.  However, with that said, this new laptop will be great for anyone looking for a laptop that will perform well and be easy to carry around.  It also has a lot sweeter price point compared to Apple’s laptops so if you’re looking for an alternative for one, this Toshiba laptop is one to think about.
