Choosing a Computer Wireless Mouse

Getting a wireless mouse for your new laptop or computer can be really hard if you don’t know what to look for. What’s the difference between the different technologies? Should you spring for a $70 mouse or will a $30 one do just fine? In this article, we’ll help you discover the cordless mouse that is right for you. Buy the right mouse the first time!

Microsoft Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse 3000 is the first mouse you should look at if you’re looking for something that gets the job done and works for you while on the go.  One of the cheapest quality mice you can buy, the 3000 mouse is a simple plug-in and go mouse.  It uses optical technology for tracking which is accurate for most tasks.  If you need a wireless mouse for your laptop and just need to type papers and surf on the internet, this is the mouse I would buy.  Also, the $20 price is definitely affordable for any wallet.  This mouse makes for a great Christmas present for the basic laptop user.  It comes in a wide variety of colors and you can get it to match any laptop or personality.  One problem with this mouse however, is its large USB connection device.  Its over an inch long and will stick out of your laptop and can be broken off if you’re not careful (damaging the laptop and the mouse).  It also doesn’t turn itself off automatically, if you need to have the mouse turn off, you have to unplug the receiver and plug it into the mouse.

Logitech V450 Nano Cordless Mouse is my personal favorite laptop mouse.  Its a bit more expensive than the Microsoft one but offers a larger selection of features and conveniences that easily make up the difference in price.  First off, the USB part is replaced by a tiny piece.  The mouse is able to turn on and off without the USB piece being plugged into it which makes it much more easy to use.  Also, the USB piece is so much smaller that you don’t have to deal with problems of breaking it off.  Its also a wireless laser mouse which means its much more accurate than the optical technology used in the 3000.  If you’re into photo editing and playing games, you’ll love the laser mouse a lot more.  Finally, it has 12 months battery life which is a definite plus because you don’t have to worry about changing batteries every few months.  This mouse costs less than $40 on Amazon.

Choosing the right mouse for your laptop is important because you don’t want something that’s inadequate, neither do you want to spend more than you have to.  The Logitech Nano is usually the right mouse for most consumers.  Its great for the everyday user and has lots a great features that everyone can use.  Unless you’re on a really strict budget or are using your laptop for hardcore gaming, I would buy the v450.
